During the break, Jie Hong talked to us bout using our experience to overcome their physical presence "They've got the size, we got the experience..." Thats what i said and he agreed. 2nd period - My line (Chey, my line seh.. haha) - Me, Zaim, Kin Leong, Jie Hong and Khai(i think) started the 2nd period. While waiting for the face off, i had a talk with their captain (bilang dier rilek ar, baru frenly, tak paya gaduh gaduh...) He also agreed (sampai dier shake hands dengan aku seh... haha) Our game was much more fluid during the 2nd period. More passes, less fouls. In fact, they eased up on their 'physicality' if you know what i mean... haha. The moment finally came. I scored my 1st ever goal in a friendly, haha... Zaim got possesion from a scramble in our area, passed it to me and, the rest is history, haha.. (1st time sak score... Feeling lyk 1 kind gitu..! Lepas aku score, aku ingat kan ader perempuan yang nampak kepe... Bolehlah eksyen sikit, hehehe... Skali diorang tengah baring macam ikan, buat aper entah exercise!!!! Wasted sak..... hahaha, k cukup) I think after that, we slowly gained confidence and momentum. Dzak scored another goal but SIM clawed a goal back through a set piece. A free hit was given to SIM on the far side of the post. The ball was lobbed to the centre (outside D) and this Gundu of a 'Thambi' swung his stick as though it was a baseball bat. It went in, but obviously it should not have counted. With that kind of swing, who would've dared to block it?? (High Stick pe.... Bengap punye 'sunik', Ini bukan cricket lah...!! Nak main, itu India sana boleh main lah deh...)
Later during the 2nd period, Faliq scored from close range, followed by a solo effort by Farok who got pass 2 defenders and scored at the near post, i think... (betul Farok? haha..) At that point, i was sure that we were going to win with the score being 4-1 at the end of the 2nd period, but i was SO........ WRONG!!!
During the 3rd peiod, tactical changes were implemented to my line. Our formation was changed from a 2-1-2 to a 2-2-1 by order of Jie Hong. Slowly, they kept scoring, 4-2, 4-3... When they drew with us, i was reallie fed up! (Cam maner kiter boleh concede 3 goals ni???!!!) The thought of the formation change soon emerged as its primary flaw. And when the scored their 5th, i went up to Jie Hong and asked him to change back to 2-1-2. It was obvious that it wasnt working. I think he saw it too, not sure though...
We didnt have much time left, so me and Zaim went all out (Pressure habis giler) but time was up, we lost. We lost to a newly formed team. We lost to a newly formed team that doesnt even know how to execute a proper face-off. Were we reallie playing to our fullest? Or did overconfidence blind us? I dunno... But its over now, no point thinking bout it... All i want now is for us SP, be it mustangs or IVP team, to achieve glory. I'm tired of us, saying "We're playing for experience" or playing a match with the mentality of 'defending cos we know we cannot score against them'. Why cant people think of us as a serious challenge?? I know its difficult, but no one said its impossible...
